Pupils in Year 4 at St Bede's Catholic Primary School, Darlington, enjoyed a fantastic visit from Miss Howard of Durham Music Service, who introduced them to the violin and shared information about how they can begin learning this exciting instrument.
During the visit, children had the opportunity to discover more about the violin, learn about the benefits of playing a musical instrument and hear about the opportunities available through Durham Music Service. Families who are interested in signing their child up for violin lessons can find full details by scanning the QR code shared in the school's photographs.
The school is also delighted to welcome Miss Howard back each week, as she will be working with Year 4 pupils every Monday to teach ukulele lessons. This includes children in Class 3/4, who will be developing their musical skills through regular sessions across the academic year.
Learning a musical instrument is a wonderful way for children to build confidence, creativity and perseverance, and the school is excited to see pupils grow as young musicians throughout the year.
